It is understandable that residents would have concerns about infrastructure projects in their area. Here are some answers to your frequently asked questions.

Will the updated Regenerative Recycling Facility benefit or hurt the environment?

This project will have a positive environmental impact. It’s important to remember, this is an existing landfill that has fallen into a bad state. The updated site will be designed to today’s environmental and engineering standards. The Regenerative Recycling Facility will positively impact the environment by diverting construction waste from landfills and by generating alternative raw materials and alternative fuels, resulting in carbon credits and responsible re-use. The modernized landfill will provide significant environmental improvement to the site by improving groundwater quality with modern impermeable engineered liners that capture water and collect it for treatment. The project also includes remediating the existing unlined landfill by digging up previously buried material and placing it into a new engineered landfill cell that will protect the environment.
